The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will open a new exhibit, Women In Metal: You Will Know My Name, on July 10, spotlighting influential female artists who have shaped the metal genre.
The exhibit honors women who defy traditional roles with powerful lyrics, assertive personas, and raw energy. It features artifacts from key figures including Lita Ford, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy and DragonForce, Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless, Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox, and others.
Curated by assistant curator Haley Cronin, the exhibit showcases diverse women who have pushed metal’s boundaries and continue to inspire future musicians. Cronin said, “Women have been pivotal influencers and changemakers in the metal genre since its inception.”
The opening event on July 10 includes a celebration with Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger performing an acoustic set, followed by metal bands Storms Within, Maxilla, and Reign of Z on the outdoor PNC Stage. Tickets start at $15 for the showcase, with a $40 option including museum access and exhibit touring from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
