Cheap Trick to Take First Break in 50 Years, Cancels Several 2027 Shows

The legendary rock band will complete their 2026 tour before stepping off the road to rest after decades of nonstop touring.

Cheap Trick has announced they will be canceling several concerts scheduled for 2027 as they take their first extended break in 50 years. The band assured fans their 2026 tour will continue as planned, with the next show set for November 5 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The decision follows a canceled February 13, 2027, date at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, where a statement from the band indicated the need for a much-needed hiatus after many years of touring.

Responding to fan concerns on October 29, Cheap Trick clarified that the break is not due to health issues but stems from a desire for rest after decades on the road. They thanked supporters and confirmed they will complete their upcoming November shows before going on hiatus.

Earlier this year in June, the band canceled or postponed several shows citing “circumstances beyond our control,” hinting at increasing challenges in maintaining their touring schedule.
