Ratt’s Dancing Undercover 40th Anniversary LP Out In July

Ratt celebrates 40 years of Dancing Undercover with a limited edition zoetrope gatefold LP featuring reimagined artwork and moving vinyl images.

BMG and Rhino Entertainment will release a limited edition 40th Anniversary zoetrope LP of Ratt‘s third studio album, Dancing Undercover, on July 31, 2026. This special gatefold edition features unique reimagined cover art and a vinyl disc displaying moving images of the band’s logo and members.

Stephen Pearcy, Ratt‘s founder and lead singer, reflected on the album’s making, saying he and Robbin Crosby aimed to create a tougher sound with Dancing Undercover. The album continued the band’s streak of success, becoming their third consecutive platinum-certified release and reaching #26 on the Billboard Top 200.

Originally released in 1986, the album includes singles like “Dance,” which charted on the Billboard Hot 100, and the music video hit “Slip of the Lip.” The track “Body Talk” was also featured in the Eddie Murphy film The Golden Child. At the time, Ratt toured North America with Poison as their opening act.

The classic lineup on Dancing Undercover features Stephen Pearcy on vocals, Warren DeMartini and Robbin Crosby on guitars, Juan Croucier on bass and vocals, and Bobby Blotzer on drums.
