Kid Rock is set to release a new Christian album titled Halfway To Jesus on October 17. The album features 17 tracks and brings together notable guest artists including Eminem, Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts, and Jimmie Allen.
The first single, “James 1:17 (Jesus Is King),” has an official music video shot at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk in Nashville. The video pays tribute to longtime keyboardist Jimmie Bones, recently diagnosed with ALS, and Kalvin Lynch, a fan with an inoperable brain tumor whose Make-A-Wish was to play drums with Kid Rock.
Among the album’s featured tracks are “7 Sins,” showcasing Eminem, and “Halfway 2 Jesus,” with vocals from LeVox and Allen. Eminem and Kid Rock share a long history of collaboration dating back to Kid Rock’s 1998 breakthrough album Devil Without A Cause. Kid Rock highlighted their friendship despite political differences and hopes the collaboration sets an example for unity beyond disagreements.
