Bruce Dickinson’s 1997 Accident Of Birth to be Remixed and Reissued

Bruce Dickinson’s 1997 solo album Accident Of Birth gets new Stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes, with reissues out this October.

Bruce Dickinson’s 1997 solo album Accident Of Birth is being reissued with fresh remixes nearly 30 years after its original release. The project finds Dickinson revisiting one of his most acclaimed solo efforts, alongside Grammy-winning producer Brendan Duffey, known for his work on Dickinson’s recent album The Mandrake Project.

Accident Of Birth marked a return to Dickinson’s hard rock and metal roots following the more experimental sound of Skunkworks. The album features contributions from guitarist Adrian Smith during their hiatus from Iron Maiden and delivers fan favorites like “Man Of Sorrows,” “Darkside Of Aquarius,” “Road To Hell,” and the title track.

The new mixes have been crafted for both Stereo and Dolby Atmos formats, enhancing the album’s epic scope and sonic depth. Dickinson expressed pride in the refreshed sound, saying the album reignited his songwriting passion and called these new mixes outstanding, encouraging fans to “turn it up loud and enjoy.”

The reissue will be released in the U.K. on October 17 through BMG coinciding with National Album Day, followed by a worldwide release on October 23. It will be available on tri-panel digisleeve CD and double splatter color vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.

Looking ahead, Dickinson’s next solo album is tentatively set for an early 2027 release via BMG.
